Established in 1996, the National Admissions & Placement Office (NAPO) is responsible for processing applications from Emirati and mother national secondary school graduates for admission to the following institutions of higher education located in the UAE:
   • United Arab Emirates University (UAEU)
   • Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT)
   • Zayed University (ZU)
   • Institute of Applied Technology (IAT)
      - Abu Dhabi Polytechnic (AD Poly)
      - Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS)
   • Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI)
   • Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE)
Emirati students with high GSC scores are eligible for a scholarship to study abroad under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR), UAE.

Dear students,
The website for the transfer requests of current school leavers (who accepted an offer of admission in a federal institution and applies to transfer to another federal institution) will be open on 4th August, 2014.


The 2014/2015 application cycle started on October 20, 2013. Please make sure to fill in the on-line application at www.mohesr.gov.ae as soon as possible not to lose the chance to sit for the CEPA-English exam, which is one of the admission requirements.

Current grade 12 Emirati and mother national students in public and private schools can apply for studies in one of the federal institutions of higher education in the UAE – the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) or Zayed University (ZU).

Those students who are interested in technical and vocational education can apply to the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI) or the Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) that includes two academies – Abu Dhabi Polytechnic (AD Poly) and Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS).

The students who opt for teachers' training education can apply to Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE).

Those Emirati students who achieve high GSC scores can apply for a scholarship to pursue tertiary studies abroad under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR), UAE.

Secondary school graduates who finished school in June 2013 and did not have the chance to apply for studies in the federal institutions of higher education in the UAE as well as those who applied, were approved but did not register for the classes, are eligible for the second semester admission for academic year 2013/2014. The admission to UAEU, HCT and ZU began on November 3, 2013.

In academic year 2013/2014, each student will be allowed to take CEPA-English twice. The first administration of CEPA-English will take place on March 8, 2014. CEPA-English (2nd attempt) will be administered on May 10, 2014.

In the academic year 2013/2014, CEPA-Math will be used for placement at some institutions. After being admitted, students at the relevant institutions will be contacted by their colleges and informed about the exam date and venue.

In September-November, 2013, NAPO along with higher education institutions is conducting joint school visits for public and private schools all over the country.

On October 29-31, 2013, NAPO participated in NAJAH Education and Training Exhibition, Abu Dhabi.

On November 17-21, 2013, NAPO staff will conduct the NAPO’s Workshop for Social Workers, Institution and Education Zone Coordinators in all education zones.
