NAPO NEWS • Abu Dhabi Polytechnic has merged with Al Ain International Aviation Academy under the name of Abu Dhabi Polytechnic. For details and list of programs, please visit http://www.aaiaa.ac.ae. • Current grade 12 Emirati and mother national students in public and private schools can apply for studies at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), Zayed University (ZU), the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), or study abroad under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MOHESR), UAE, in the 2013/2014 academic year. • Please make sure to fill in the on-line application at www.mohesr.gov.ae/napo/2013 as soon as possible not to lose the chance to sit for the CEPA-English exam, which is one of the admission requirements. • In academic year 2012/2013, each student is allowed to take CEPA-English twice. The first administration of CEPA-English took place on March 2, 2013. Some 15,317 students sat for the exam. CEPA-English (2nd attempt) was administered on May 4, 2013. Some 11,524 students took the exam. • CEPA-English make-up exam will take place on June 1, 2013. In order to sit for the exam, students must submit an appeal request to NAPO. • All applicants who will get approved for studies at HCT and ZU in the 2013/2014 academic year will take CEPA-Math as a placement test. After being admitted, students at both institutions will be contacted by their colleges and informed about the exam date and venue. • On March 14-16, 2013, NAPO participated in the 19th International TESOL Arabia Conference & Exhibition 2013, Dubai. • On April 17-19, 2013, NAPO participated in the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition 2013, Dubai.
